The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghan journalist and photographer Alam Kabiri has died in Iran after battling cancer for several months, the Afghanistan Media Support Organization (AMSO) said Tuesday.
In a statement confirming his death, AMSO said Kabiri devoted many years of his career to journalism, photography and cultural activities, working with several Afghan media outlets.
The organization described Kabiri as a professional photographer and committed writer who played an important role in documenting the lives of Afghans and contributing to the country's media landscape.
AMSO called his death a significant loss for Afghanistan's media community and the cause of press freedom, and extended its condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
