The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban-run media center said the Ministry of Public Works is currently working on 74 major road and highway construction projects across Afghanistan, creating thousands of job opportunities.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the media center said the projects have generated 20,596 direct jobs and around 112,000 indirect employment opportunities.
According to the statement, key ongoing projects include the Kandahar–Helmand highway, Kandahar–Spin Boldak road, the second lane of the Kabul–Ghazni highway, the Salang corridor, the Badghis ring road, and roads linking Kunar–Nuristan, Dasht-e-Archi–Kunduz, Maymana–Faryab, and Qosh Tepa–Darzab.
It added that 9,493 pieces of machinery are currently engaged in construction work across the country.
The Taliban said the projects aim to strengthen Afghanistan’s transport infrastructure, improve travel conditions and expand economic activity nationwide.
