The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) and India’s Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation, ANI News reported.
The agreement was signed in New Delhi by Saurabh Sanyal and
Sayed Mohammad Karim Hashemi during a meeting between business leaders from
both countries.
The Afghan delegation, led by Hashemi, also held talks with
Nirmal Kumar Minda and other officials on expanding trade flows, investment
opportunities and private-sector cooperation.
According to ASSOCHAM, the MoU aims to strengthen
institutional collaboration, promote business-to-business engagement and
facilitate greater economic opportunities between India and Afghanistan.
The development comes as Afghanistan seeks to deepen
economic ties with regional partners, while India continues to engage with
Afghan business institutions to support trade and investment links despite
broader political challenges.
