The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban have resumed construction work on five incomplete university dormitories across Afghanistan at a cost of 90 million afghanis, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.
In a statement, the ministry said the projects were approved by Taliban leadership and that the remaining construction work has now begun using the ministry’s budget.
The statement added that the dormitories are expected to be completed and become operational by the end of the current solar year, corresponding to late 2026.
According to the ministry, once completed, the facilities will provide suitable and secure accommodation for approximately 5,000 students, improving living and study conditions at several universities.
