The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Officials from Uzbekistan and Tatarstan held a joint meeting to discuss expanding trade cooperation through the border city of Termez, located near Afghanistan.
During the meeting, officials from the Termez International Trade Center invited traders to establish assembly-based production in the area, offering incentives such as duty-free imports of vegetables, fruits, and fresh produce.
According to the officials, the center, which operates as a free economic zone, provides improved facilities for the transportation, storage, and export of goods. It is expected to facilitate easier access to markets in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
The meeting also highlighted the growing importance of the Termez route as a key corridor linking Central Asia to South Asia, playing an increasingly significant role in regional trade.
