The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Iranian state media has released images claiming that a United States fighter jet was shot down over central Iran, amid escalating tensions and widening conflict across the Middle East. However, there has been no immediate confirmation from Washington regarding the claim.

The developments come as fighting intensifies between Iran, the United States, and Israel, with both sides exchanging strikes on military and infrastructure targets.

According to multiple reports, Iran has launched attacks across the Gulf region, targeting key infrastructure in several countries. In Kuwait, a major oil refinery and a water desalination facility were struck, causing damage and raising concerns over critical water supplies.

Authorities in Kuwait have previously confirmed that an attack on a water desalination plant caused significant damage and casualties, highlighting the vulnerability of essential civilian infrastructure.

In the United Arab Emirates, a gas facility was also targeted, while missile strikes in Israel damaged residential areas, including homes and vehicles, as the conflict expanded beyond Iran’s borders.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his rhetoric, warning that the U.S. military has not yet fully deployed its capabilities and could carry out further strikes on Iranian infrastructure.

Iran, in response, has warned that it will “destroy” U.S. assets in the region if attacks continue or escalate further, signaling the risk of a broader regional war.

The ongoing conflict, which began in late February 2026, has increasingly targeted energy and water infrastructure across the Gulf, raising global concerns over humanitarian impacts and disruptions to critical supplies, including oil and drinking water.

International observers have warned that continued escalation could severely destabilize the region, as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions remain limited.
