The Kabul Tribune (KT) — UNICEF Afghanistan has thanked EU Humanitarian Aid for its continued support to children across Afghanistan, saying the assistance is helping deliver critical, life-saving services to vulnerable families.
In a statement, UNICEF Afghanistan said the European Union’s
humanitarian arm is enabling the organization and its partners to reach
children at a crucial time, particularly amid worsening humanitarian
conditions.
Meanwhile, EU Humanitarian Aid Asia-Pacific announced that
shipments of therapeutic food have arrived at a UNICEF warehouse in Kabul.
According to the agency, approximately 3.7 million children
under the age of five in Afghanistan are currently facing acute malnutrition, a
crisis exacerbated by shortages of essential supplies.
The EU said that, with its support, around 20,000 boxes of
therapeutic food were airlifted into the country to assist humanitarian
organizations in providing urgent nutritional treatment to children in need.
