The Kabul Tribune (KT) — World Health Organization in Afghanistan has warned that women and children are among the most affected by tuberculosis (TB), with many cases still going undetected across the country.
In a statement marking World TB Day, the agency stressed
that early diagnosis is critical to preventing the spread of the disease and
saving lives.
The WHO urged individuals experiencing symptoms, or parents
concerned about their children, to seek medical care without delay, noting that
free TB testing and treatment services are available nationwide.
Tuberculosis is a curable disease, the agency said,
emphasizing that timely action can significantly improve outcomes and reduce
transmission.
