The Kabul Tribune (KT) - The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that since the start of the conflict in the Middle East, more than 2,100 children have been killed or injured.

UNICEF added that during the fighting, 206 children have died in Iran, 118 in Lebanon, 4 in Israel, and 1 in Kuwait.

According to the agency, on average, about 87 children have been killed or injured every day since the war began, and the number is expected to rise as violence continues.

UNICEF also said that around 3.2 million people in Iran have been displaced, including about 864,000 children.

The report says that in Lebanon, over 1 million people have been displaced, and around 370,000 children—nearly one-third of all displaced—are sheltering in public buildings, including schools.

UNICEF has reached more than 151,000 displaced people in Lebanon so far, but a severe lack of funding is limiting its ability to expand assistance.
