The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Ireland’s cricket authority has announced that Afghanistan’s national cricket team is scheduled to play a five-match One Day International (ODI) series against Ireland.
According to a statement, the series will begin on Aug. 5 and continue through Aug. 14, 2026, with all matches set to be held in Ireland.
So far, officials from the Afghanistan Cricket Board have not commented on the series, and no further details have been released regarding the squad or match schedule.
Ireland had previously declined to host or participate in some matches against Afghan teams, citing concerns over Taliban policies restricting the participation of women and girls in sports and society.
