The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Norwegian Refugee Council said that ongoing clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistan have disrupted education for hundreds of students in eastern Afghanistan.
The organization said 21 classrooms supported by the council
in Khost province have suspended activities, interrupting the education of more
than 620 students.
In a post on X on March 6, 2026, the council said education,
students and civilians must not be targeted in conflicts.
Expressing concern about the continued violence, the
organization said the escalation of clashes has made it difficult for children
to safely attend school.
The Norwegian Refugee Council called for an immediate end to
the fighting, urging all sides to ensure conditions that allow children to safely
return to their classrooms.
