The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban’s Supreme Court said two men were flogged in the Gurziwan district of Faryab Province over allegations of “sodomy.”
In a statement issued Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, the court said the Taliban primary court in Faryab had sentenced each individual to one year of imprisonment and 25 lashes. The punishments were carried out after confirmation by the Supreme Court.
Over the past four years, the Taliban have repeatedly implemented corporal punishments, including public flogging and executions, in several provinces. These measures have drawn widespread criticism from international human rights organizations and the global community.
