The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Taliban authorities say two people, including a woman, were publicly flogged in Parwan province’s Sorkh-Parsa district for alleged “immoral relations,” according to a statement from the Supreme Court.
The statement, issued Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, said that based on the Taliban district court’s ruling, the male defendant was sentenced to one year in prison and the female defendant to two months of imprisonment.
Both were reportedly given 20 lashes each.
The statement comes amid reports that over the past four years, the Taliban have publicly flogged numerous individuals—a practice widely condemned by human rights organizations as a violation of human rights and a cruel and degrading punishment.
