The Kabul Tribune (KT) - The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported that Iran executed eight prisoners in recent days, including two Afghan nationals.
According to Hengaw, those executed had been convicted on charges including “drug-related offences” and “premeditated murder.”
The two Afghan nationals were executed in North Khorasan, while other executions took place in Birjand, Bojnurd, Dorud, Malayer, and Shiraz prisons.
Hengaw noted that none of the executions have been reported by Iranian state-run media.
The surge in executions in Iran has drawn widespread concern from human rights groups.
