The Kabul Tribune (KT) — At least 11 suspected militants were killed in separate security operations in Pakistan’s Chagai and Sibi districts over the past 24 hours, while three security personnel — including two police constables — died in related incidents in Balochistan, Dawn reported Wednesday.

According to officials, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the mountainous Dalbandin area of Chagai after receiving reports of militants hiding there. The troops came under heavy fire, sparking an intense gun battle that lasted about an hour and left six suspects dead.

“The Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists were detected through aerial reconnaissance,” officials said, adding that weapons and ammunition were seized from the site. The operation, they said, had reduced security threats to both troops and civilians in the area.

In a separate raid in Sibi district, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) surrounded a compound where militants were believed to be hiding. A firefight broke out, killing five suspects, according to CTD sources. Authorities recovered arms, ammunition, maps and documents allegedly detailing planned attacks. The slain men were reportedly linked to previous assaults on security forces and law enforcement personnel.

Meanwhile, in Noshki district, two police constables — Abdul Razzaq and Obaid Ullah — were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on motorbikes near the Gharibabad western bypass as they were traveling to police lines. Police said both men died on the spot, and an investigation is underway. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a separate incident in Kachhi district’s Sanni Shoran area, a security official was killed when a landmine exploded near a patrol vehicle, also causing severe damage to the vehicle, officials said.

Balochistan — Pakistan’s largest and most sparsely populated province — has seen a surge in militant attacks targeting security forces in recent months.
