The Kabul Tribune (KT) —The United States has condemned Tuesday’s deadly explosion
in Islamabad, expressing condolences to the victims and reaffirming its support
for Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
In a statement posted on X, the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad
said, “The United States stands in solidarity with Pakistan in the struggle
against terrorism. Our condolences to the families of those who lost their
lives in today’s senseless attack. We wish a swift recovery to those injured.”
The message, issued by Natalie Baker, the U.S. Chargé
d’Affaires in Pakistan, added that Washington “condemns this attack and all
forms of terrorism” and “remains committed to supporting the Government of
Pakistan’s efforts to ensure peace and stability in their nation.”
The statement came hours after a powerful explosion outside
Islamabad’s judicial complex killed at least 12 people and wounded
more than 20 others, in what officials described as a suicide bombing. No group
has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
