The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban minister of commerce and industry, is expected to visit India this week following his current trip to Iran, with talks focused on trade obstacles and regional economic cooperation, credible sources told The Kabul Tribune.

According to officials familiar with the plan, the visit aims to address challenges facing Afghan–Indian commercial ties and explore ways to expand economic engagement. The main agenda of the trip will center on discussions regarding the Chabahar port, a key transit route that both sides view as strategically important for regional trade.

The planned visit comes as the Taliban have been seeking alternative trade corridors in recent weeks after heightened tensions with Pakistan strained traditional commercial routes used by Afghan traders. Officials say the Taliban are looking for reliable options to ease the movement of goods and reduce dependence on any single neighboring country.
