The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The United Nations Children’s Fund
(UNICEF) has built and inaugurated a fully equipped health center in a camp for
earthquake-affected families in Kunar province in less than two months.
Tajuddin Owyuli, UNICEF’s representative in Afghanistan,
said on Tuesday in a post on X that the center replaces previous temporary
tents and now provides around 600 affected families with access to healthcare
services.
The facility offers essential health services under one
roof, including vaccinations, maternal and child healthcare, and nutrition
services.
Owyuli emphasized that the construction of the center is part
of UNICEF’s ongoing efforts to improve access to primary healthcare for
vulnerable families in earthquake-affected areas in eastern Afghanistan.
