The Kabul Tribune (KT) - At least four militants were killed after they attacked a Pakistani security forces camp in the Boya area of North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, Dawn reported.

According to officials cited by Dawn, the attackers managed to enter the camp and opened fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire with Pakistani forces. During the clash, all four militants were killed, while four Pakistani forces personnel were injured.

Initial reports suggested the attackers may have used an explosives-laden vehicle or a suicide jacket in the assault. A loud explosion was heard as far as Miranshah, about 25 kilometres away, local sources told Dawn.

The attack comes amid a recent rise in militant violence in Pakistan. Earlier this year, Pakistan ranked second in the Global Terrorism Index 2025, with deaths from militant attacks increasing by 45 per cent compared with the previous year, Dawn reported.

Authorities said the situation remains under review as more information becomes available.
