The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The European Union has called for greater protection
for Afghan women, who face increased vulnerability during migration, internal
displacement, and return, the EU office in Afghanistan said Saturday, December
7, 2025.
Marking the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based
Violence, the EU stressed its commitment to ensuring the dignity and safety of
women in these crises. EU officials said their response prioritizes the needs
of the most vulnerable women, focusing on delivering protection and assistance
where it is needed most.
Afghan women in crisis situations—such as migration, return
from abroad, or internal displacement—face heightened risks of violence and
abuse. The EU’s statement comes amid efforts to raise awareness during the
annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, emphasizing the
importance of safeguarding women’s rights and dignity in humanitarian and
displacement contexts.
