The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Senior leaders of Pakistan’s National Democratic Movement (NDM) condemned Tuesday’s deadly gun attack in Bannu district that killed North Waziristan Assistant Commissioner Shah Waliullah and police officer Sher Rehman.
NDM chairman Mohsin Dawar said in a statement that the
attack reflects continued violence against Pashtuns, adding that the victims’
families have been plunged into grief. He said the rise in targeted attacks
shows that the “cycle of bloodshed against Pashtuns remains unbroken.”
NDM’s Islamabad organizing committee chairman, Mansoor Mehsud, also
denounced the incident, calling it another sign of “state failure” to protect
local officials and security personnel. He said the killing of the assistant
commissioner and the police officer has shaken the entire region, urging
authorities to take responsibility and address the repeated security lapses.
Both leaders offered condolences to the families of the
slain officials and demanded accountability for what they described as
persistent negligence by state institutions
